Buddhist Society of Elkhart

Welcome to the Buddhist Society of Elkhart

The Buddhist Society of Elkhart is a group of like-minded people who learn and practice Buddhism under the guidance of our teacher, Venerable Wuling. The society meets weekly on Monday nights; regularly offers Pure Land classes and lectures on the Amitabha Sutra; and periodically holds one-day retreats.

We practice and learn Buddhism as a way of life and a state of mind, not as a religion.

While the Monday night Buddhism in Daily Life class is ideal for the general study of Buddhism, the Pure Land Class and the Amitabha Sutra Class are tailored for those who wish to delve more deeply into Pure Land Buddhism. Retreats are for those who wish to have a day dedicated solely to Pure Land practice and learning.

It is not necessary to have previously studied Buddhism or the Pure Land principles to benefit from the different activities. The primary pre-requisite is to have the wish to learn how to incorporate the teachings and the practice into daily life.
